The right one

Dog toys

Dog toys should be “dog-friendly.” Above all, this means that they satisfy a dog's natural play needs: chewing, tugging, fetching, thinking, and cuddling. It is ideal if you offer a separate toy for each need. After all, variety is fun for your four-legged friend too.

Plush toy

Plush toys are suitable for dogs of all ages. Four-legged friends love carrying them around, cuddling with them, or using them as a nap pillow. Dogsmopolitan offers a perfect selection of dog toys here: they contain no small parts that could come loose and be swallowed by your four-legged friend, and they are free from chemical substances that could be ingested through carrying them in their mouth.

Swimming

For dogs that love the water, we have great floating toys in our range. Thanks to their buoyancy and additional features, such as high visibility in the water, they provide that extra bit of fun when swimming.

Chew & Tug

Most dogs love tug-of-war and fetch games. Since these games release great forces, the toy should be made of particularly robust and durable material. The classic choice here is our natural hemp knot, which is available in the right size for every dog.

Hunting & Retrieving

Throwing and fetch toys are perfect for redirecting your furry friend’s natural hunting instinct toward the toy, helping you control it. Targeted fetch training also strengthens your bond. Why not try a snack dummy? The treats inside the pouch encourage your dog to pick it up. Once they bring it to you, a delicious reward awaits. If you prefer not to use food, you can use a toy with a squeaker instead. Simply experiment to see whether your pet is better motivated by food or a squeaky toy.

Important: You should only play tug and fetch games with your dog after they have finished teething, which is at the earliest from five to seven months of age. Otherwise, the forces involved could damage their teeth and gums.

Dog toys by need

For dogs that love the water, Dogsmopolitan has a great range of floating toys in its assortment. Thanks to their buoyancy and additional features, such as visibility (standing upright) in the water, they offer an extra portion of fun in the water.

IQ toys are an absolute must for every dog owner, as physical exercise is not enough to keep our clever four-legged friends fully occupied. IQ toys are specifically designed for canine mental stimulation. Since the toys come in various difficulty levels, even beginners can quickly enjoy a sense of achievement. Furthermore, dogs find it extremely fun to earn a portion of their food.

Chewing behavior

Our plush toy is particularly well-suited for dogs with a very soft mouth that do not chew much on their toys and rarely tug on them. It is very soft and gentle on the teeth. It is not suitable for heavy chewers, or will generally only have a short lifespan for them.

Ideal for dogs with a stronger chewing instinct and vigorous play behavior are robust products such as ropes or tennis balls specifically designed for dogs that are gentle on teeth.

Dogs with an extremely strong chewing instinct and a rather rough play style need toys that can withstand a lot.
