A notice :

Playtime is team time! Please supervise your dog while playing. Even with particularly sturdy toys, parts can come loose and be swallowed.
Please check the dog toy regularly for damage or wear.

And of course: If your dog can already break down bones, he can also break down toys – that’s completely normal.
Some dogs are real power chewers who move quickly – others play gently and enjoy it for longer.

Therefore, no dog toy is indestructible.

The right thing

dog toys

Dog toys should be "dog-friendly." This primarily means that they satisfy a dog's natural play needs: chewing, tugging, fetching, thinking, and cuddling. It's ideal if you offer a separate toy for each need. After all, variety is fun for your dog, too.

needs

For dogs who love the water, Dogsmopolitan has a range of great swimming toys. With their floating ability and additional features, such as the visibility (standing up) of the toy in the water, these toys offer an extra dose of fun in the water.

Most dogs absolutely love tug-of-war and prey games. Since these games involve a great deal of force, the toy should be made of a particularly robust and durable material. Our classic choice is our knotted toy made of natural hemp, which is available in the right size for every dog.

Throwing and retrieving toys are ideal for channeling your dog's natural hunting instinct toward the toy and thus controlling it. Targeted retrieving training also promotes bonding. Try a snack dummy: The treats inside the bag encourage your dog to pick it up. As soon as he brings it back, he'll receive a nice reward. If you don't want to use food, you can use a toy with a squeaker instead. Just experiment and see if your dog responds better to food or a squeaker.

Important: You should only play tug-of-war and fetch games with your dog after their teeth have shed, i.e., from the fifth to seventh month of life at the earliest. Given the forces involved, there's a risk of damaging their teeth.

Plush toys are suitable for dogs of all ages. Four-legged friends love to carry them around, cuddle with them, or use them as snuggle pillows. Dogsmopolitan offers a perfect selection of dog toys: They contain no small parts that could come loose and be swallowed by your dog, and they are free of chemicals that could be ingested by carrying them in the mouth.

IQ toys are also a must-have for any dog-friendly household, as physical exercise isn't enough to keep our clever four-legged friends busy. IQ toys are specifically designed to stimulate dogs' minds. Since the toys are available in various difficulty levels, even beginners can quickly experience success. Dogs also find it incredibly enjoyable to earn a portion of their food.

Chewing behavior

Our plush toy is especially suitable for dogs with particularly soft mouths who rarely chew on their toys and rarely pull on them. It's very soft and gentle on the teeth. It's not suitable for dogs with strong bites, and in those cases, it's usually short-lived.

Robust products such as ropes or tennis balls specially developed for dogs and gentle on their teeth are ideal for dogs with a strong chewing instinct and energetic play behavior.

Dogs with an extremely strong chewing instinct and rather rough play behavior need toys that can withstand a lot. Our BEco Ball with Rope is ideal for these wild creatures: Even the strongest jaws can't hurt it.
